Sony TV’s flagship weekend comedy series ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ is rumoured to be ending its run on linear television and may soon shift to online-only.
The show helmed by comedian Kapil Sharma, is currently on a season-break as Sharma tours the US. While some have said that the show will return after its short break, others have suggested that makers are exploring the idea of making it exclusively available for OTT platform users.
A source told KoiMoi, “The comedian and actor want to explore the web world in the genre of comedy. There’s a buzz that Kapil might not return to TV. Yes, you read that right. However, nothing has been confirmed. It is being said that Kapil is eager to explore the OTT world and not restrict himself to just one show.”
The channel has not responded to the rumours.
