Siddharth Anand: “There’s only one Pathaan for me in the industry”

The ‘Pathaan’ (2023) fever is refusing to bow down and the movie is minting money at the box-office with each passing day. Shah Rukh Khan’s movie has breathed life into single screen theatres in India. Filmmaker Siddharth Anand truly believed that there’d be only one man in the film industry to own the name of his recent hit.

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ is going strong on 12 days after its release on January 25. The movie has sent cash registers ringing and broken several records. Looks like the entire team does not know when the celebrations will really end. While Deepika Padukone has resumed work and flew down to film for ‘Fighter’ alongside Hrithik Roshan, the rest of the cast and crew is basking in all the love. Director Siddharth during a recent interview revealed to Anupama Chopra how he had registered the title of Pathaan many years back. The filmmaker went on to say, “I had spoken to Shah Rukh, even if I never make this title is yours. Whenever you make a film and you want to call it ‘Pathaan’, it’s yours. Because there’s only one ‘Pathaan‘ for me in the industry.”

Clearly, the Siddharth is overwhelmed by all the appreciation that he has received for the movie. The director however feels, “You cannot make a film like Pathaan if you don’t have every element of universe on your side.”
