‘Lagaan’ to be adapted as a London West End musical?

21 years after its release, Ashutosh Gowariker’s 2001 all-time-blockbuster film ‘Lagaan’ is reportedly getting a London West End musical treatment.

The film starring Aamir Khan was set during the British rule in 1893. Over the years, ‘Lagaan’ created history at the box office and received recognition at the Oscars, a year after its release.

“Several leading producers from the UK have requested the rights from Aamir Khan Productions and a final decision will be made soon regarding the West End Theater,” the source stated to news agency ANI.
