Anees Bazmee to revive “shelved” project with Shahid Kapoor?

Filmmaker Anees Bazmee has expressed his interest in reviving a shelved project that was originally set to star Shahid Kapoor.

The untitled comedy, which was scheduled to begin production in August 2023, had Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. While Bazmee had earlier stated that the collaboration with Kapoor did not materialise, he remained optimistic about the film, describing it as “a great script.”

Addressing the possibility of working with Kapoor again, Bazmee said, “I still have that film in my mind. I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of fun working with Shahid. He’s very talented! Why shouldn’t I work with him again? Mujhe kisi se na dushmani hai na naaraazgi (I hold no grudges or animosity towards anyone).”

Responding to rumours of a fallout with Kapoor, Bazmee clarified, “When making a film, there has to be mutual understanding between the people involved. Ideally, both parties should be honest about their expectations. That’s the only way to avoid any misunderstandings.”

He further elaborated, “Shahid has his own way of working and thinking. Sometimes, two creative approaches might not align, and that’s completely fine. In such situations, it’s better not to work together. However, if we can find common ground, I’d absolutely love to collaborate with him again.”
