Akshay Kumar approached for Karan Johar’s biopic on Sir Chettur Sankaran Nair?

The story of Sir Chettur Sankaran Nair, who fought the British Raj in court to unearth the truth about the Jallianwallah Baug tragedy, recently caught the attention of Karan Johar as he announced that he will produce a film based on the historical judicial struggle. It’s thought that Akshay Kumar has been approached for the film.

A statement by Johar read, “Sankaran Nair’s bravery ignited freedom struggle across the country and is a testament to the power of fighting for truth.”

The star-cast will be confirmed soon, according to Johar and director, Karan Tyagi, reports Box Office Worldwide. However, reports say the production are in talks with Akshay Kumar.

“It has all the elements that an Akshay Kumar film is known for and AK is definitely their first choice for the project. While a couple of meetings have already taken place, the paperwork is yet to be done,” a source said.

“Akshay has loved the script and the idea of this film, but his only issue is the timeline of shoot. His diary is packed for the next 1 year and is working out on the date diary before committing to the project,” the source added.
