Aamir Khan reacts to ‘Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha’ trend

Aamir Khan has reacted after tweets against his upcoming film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ started trending.

The Bollywood superstar, who plays the titular role in the ‘Forrest Gump’ Hindi remake, has also co-produced the project. Asked how he felt about #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha trending, Khan told IndiaToday, “Yes, I feel sad.”

He added, “Also, I feel sad that some of the people who are saying this, in their heart, they believe that I am someone who doesn’t like India. In their hearts they believe, but it is untrue. It is rather unfortunate that some people feel that way. That’s not the case.” He requested fans to give his film a fair chance and added, “Please don’t boycott my film. Please watch my film.”

The boycott trend emerged after Internet users got hold of clips from a Khan interview in 2015, in which his ex-filmmaker wife Kiran Rao had suggested they moved countries because of “growing intolerance”.
