London’s popular Asian radio station, Lyca Radio has been named Radio Station of the Year at the 10th prestigious Asian Media Awards held in Manchester on Friday.
Lyca Radio broadcasts in Greater London on 1458AM, DAB, smart-speaker, mobile app and LycaRadio.com. The station, which has been running for eight years, walked away with the accolade for the first time at the event.
Lyca Radio beat off competition from BBC Asian Network, Sunrise Radio and Sabras Radio, all of whom were nominated in the same category.
Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Media said, “We are thrilled to be declared Radio Station of the Year at the Asian Media Awards 2022. Not only are we hugely grateful to our listeners and commercial partners but also this award is a testament to my team’s hard work. What a great way to end a historic week, with the arrival of the UK’s first British Asian Prime Minister, Diwali celebrations and big numbers for Lyca Gold – the UK’s first and only retro Asian music station. Thanks to everyone for their unrivalled support and love.”
